Violinist Karen Donato is an active performer and teacher in southeast Michigan. She is a tenured member of the Ann Arbor Symphony and Flint Symphony (Assistant Principal Second Violin), and plays regularly with other Michigan ensembles. 

Ms. Donato maintains a private violin and viola studio out of her home in Canton. She teaches preschool music at Children's Garden Montessori School in Canton, and elementary music at the Renaissance Homeschool Group in Farmington Hills.

Other performance projects include chamber works at Orchestra Hall in Detroit, Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor, and in many venues across the Upper Peninsula.  Ms. Donato also performs with touring Broadway productions, most recently in West Side Story at the Fox Theater (Detroit) and Chicago at The Whiting (Flint).  She and her husband, keyboardist Neil Donato, collaborate regularly to perform both classical and jazz music.

Ms. Donato holds a Master of Music Degree in Violin Performance from The University of Michigan.
